PURPOSE:To facilitate building of a ship in which the propulsive efficiency of a ship hull is improved, by a method wherein a stern is formed in such shape that the flow of water flowing through a stern screw propeller is produced in a reverse direction to the moving direction of a propeller blade. CONSTITUTION:A single screw propeller 1 is positioned on a ship hull central line C of a stern part. A ship hull block 3, positioned directly adjacent to the propeller 1 of the stern part, is formed in such shape that the flow is produced in an opposite direction to the moving direction of a propeller blade. Namely, the shape of the ship hull is formed laterally asymmetrically so that, in case the screw propeller is turned clockwise, the down flow of water is produced on the port side and the up flow of water on the starboard side. Especially, only a stern structure block 3, positioned in the vicinity of the propeller screw 1, is formed in an asymmetrical shape to build the block 3 separately from the other part of a ship hull 4, and the connection of the block to said other part enables easy building of a ship hull in which the propulsive efficiency of a ship hull is improved.
