PURPOSE:To record short-time sample data correctly by using a recorder which has a low response speed by connecting a sample holding circuit and a high input buffer circuit to the recorder. CONSTITUTION:An etching tank 11 is filled with an etchant 12 and a current flowing through a platinum wire 14 is sampled so as to monitor the etching state of a body 13 to be etched which is dipped in the etchant. A relay 15 is closed under the control of a control circuit 16 for a short time, and a current flowing through a terminal resistance 20 is led out as a voltage; and it is sampled and held by a sample holding circuit 17 and received by a high input buffer circuit 18, whose output drives a recorder 19 to record data. Thus, the sample data in the short time is recorded by using the recorder 19 having the low response speed.
