PURPOSE:To make the effect center of a sail approximate to a center line of the hull and reduce a degree of heeling, by curving a mast to some extent. CONSTITUTION:A mast 1 is curved in type and ranged from a sialyard in succession, which is designed so as to rotate as being supported by a strut 3. In time of sailing, a sial part 4' being more rearward than the strut 3 and the sailyard 2 become more the leeward side than a center line X-X' of a yacht but a sail part 4'' being more frontward than the strut 3 and the mast 1 become more the windward side than the center line X-X' of the yacht. And, a effect center of the wind received by the sail 4 comes near to the said center line X-X' whereby weight of the mast 1 and that of a part 4' of the sail both are imposed on the windward side in consequence. And, in case of the same area, the sail comes lower than the conventional one and the effect center is low too. With this constitution, a weak point in the yacht, that is, liable to take 'heeling' is well improved so that sailing performance is made much better and, what is more, reduction in a bottom weight and extension of a sail area both come possible now.
