PURPOSE:To provide the titled tap performing a forging with high material yield in short time by having a slope and flank with pinching a parallel face in the section in axial direction of the body to be forged and by constituting the section which is in the vertical direction with a shaft with the combination of the up and down taps of recessed arc shape. CONSTITUTION:The tap for taper forging has at least one slope 12, 13 and a flank 14 with pinching a parallel face 11 in the section which is in axial direction of the body to be forged, and is consisted of the section which is in the vertical direction with a shaft combining recessed arc shaped up and down taps 1A, 1B. The necessary tapered surface is formed with the minimum generation of excess metals in short time by pressing down the rod part with pinching by said tap 1A and 1B in two pieces, by moving the tap position with rotating the body to be forged and by increasing the rolling reduction. It is preferable in the above that the slope is made in more than two and the inclination theta for the axis is so increased as remoter slope from the parallel surface and the form the maximum inclination theta about equally to the angle of a taper to be formed by forging.
