PURPOSE:To detect automatically the life of a tool in various kinds of numerical-controled, full automatic machines by storing the useful working frequency of a punch, etc. and comparing an integral value of the working frequency with said working frequency every time after working. CONSTITUTION:In a turret punch press 1, for instance; a tool management device 29 is separately installed at the side of a numerical control part 31, and a single working of tool is detected at every striking of a striking element by a detection part 33, and its signal is introduced to an arithmetic part 35. Further, the device 29 has a data-input part 37, which inputs the useful working frequency of a specific punch 7 by manual operation to store these data in a memory 39. Furthermore, the device has an output part 41, and the arithmetic part 35 compares the data about the useful working frequency of punch 7 outputted from the part 37 with an integral value of the actual working frequency of the same punch. If the useful working frequency reaches the integral value of the actual one, an alarm is announced to the arithmetic part of control part 31 or an indication signal for changing the tool for a new one is outputted. |
