PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic emulsion high in sensitivity to white light, especially, in the red wavelength region by incorporating a combination of at least each one of 2 kinds of specified sensitizing dyes in said emulsion. CONSTITUTION:Sensitization including the J-band due to the sensitizing dye represented by formula [I] is more intensified by using a combination with the sensitizing dye represented by formula [II]; the J aggregate of the dye of formula [I] is properly finely divided and shifted to the blue side, and comes to exhibit the spectral sensitization max. wavelength between that of each dye when each is used alone, resulting in not only remarkably enhancing red sensitivity, but also white sensitivity. The change of their use ratio permits the intensity distribution of the spectral sensitization max. wavelength to be changed almost freely. Since the max. sensitivity can be reached by using a small amt. of dyes, color stains due to remaining dyes after development processing can be reduced.
