NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (Z is residue of aminodicarboxylic acid excluding the amino group; X is residue of tetrapyrrole excluding the carboxyl group; n is 1-4). EXAMPLE:Monoaspartylchlorin e6. USE:Antitumor agent and optical diagnostic. PREPARATION:The objective compound can be prepared by contacting a tetrapyrrole containing >=3 carboxyl groups [e.g. the compound of formula II (X is H, vinyl, ethyl, acetyl or formyl; Y is methyl or formyl; M is methyl; E is ethyl)] with an aminodicarboxylic acid in the presence of a proper solvent.
