PURPOSE:To obtain accelerating performance in a good response characteristic, by controlling a recirculation control valve, after it is once fully closed when an engine is accelerated, in an intake recirculating passage so that a recirculation amount corresponding to an accelerator opening may be obtained, in the case of an intake device equipped with an intake recirculating mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Each cylinder 1 opens to its combustion chamber 2 an intake port 5, communicating with an intake passage 4 branching from a surge tank 3, while a recirculation port 14 recirculating a part of intake introduced to the combustion chamber 2. Each recirculation port 14 is connected by recirculating passages 13 so as to communicate with each other, and the recirculating passage 13 sets a recirculation control valve 15 for controlling a recirculation amount from each cylinder 1. And when it is decided by a controller 23 that operation of an engine comes to be placed in an acceleration condition, the recirculation control valve 15, after it is once fully closed, is controlled so that a recirculation amount corresponding to the opening of a throttle valve 9 in accordance with the depression of an accelerator pedal 21 may be obtained.
