PURPOSE:To improve resistance to light rays such as ultraviolet rays and short- wavelength visual light beams and to eliminate optical deterioration by forming a photochromic glass plate as the top-side glass plate of an antidazzle mirror. CONSTITUTION:The photochromic glass plate 1 as a top-side substrate and a glass plate 2 as a reverse-side substrate are provided opposite each other and transparent electrodes 2 and 2 and oriented insulating films 4 and 4 are provided on the opposite surface sides. Liquid crystal 5 which has guest-host effect is filled between both oriented insulating films 4 and 4, which are sealed with a sealing material 6. Consequently, when incident light to the antidazzle mirror is intense in the daytime, etc., light beams such as ultraviolet rays and short-wavelength visible light beams are absorbed by the photochromic glass plate to optimize the quantity of light entering the antidazzle mirror and the liquid crystal, and, principally, an organic material such as the sealing material are protected from deteriorating optically, so that the durability is improved greatly.
