PURPOSE:To utilize effectively a blank step of a function to improve the execution speed of an instruction by controlling the execution of the function in accordance with the formation/non-formation of a condition at the output of a condition branching instruction. CONSTITUTION:An external storage device 2 storing a microinstruction group is connected to a microprogram control device 1. At the time of operation, a function A is executed, condition branching is executed as sequence control, and when a condition X is satisfied, a function B is invalidated. If the condition X is not satisfied, a function C is executed. At that time, a microinstruction in a register group 3 is set up in a register group 5 through a decoder 4. On the other hand, a condition deciding circuit 7 sends its decided output to a clear signal generating circuit 8 when the condition X is satisfied, and if a function invalidating indication is applied to the microinstruction outputted from the register 3, the circuit 8 clears the contents of the function group control signal register 5.
