PURPOSE:To unitary manage plural kinds of libraries by devising the titled system so that the relation or combination among components or design elements defined in plural kinds of the libraries is defined externally. CONSTITUTION:Various library files are assigned as a data storage section 1 and a library index information storage section 2. A registration name or the like is inputted as a parameter 5 from a graphic display device 4 and library index information relating various libraries is registered in a library index information storage file X by using a registration means 7 of a library index information processing section 3. The index information registered in the file X is read from the file X by using a reference means 8 and the referenced information is corrected by using a correction means 9. Further, the content of various data stored in various library files A-F is retrieved by using a retrieval means 10 based on the referenced information.
