PURPOSE:To provide the titled preparation effective in preventing side effect caused by overdose at the initial stage of application and exhibiting continuous pharmacological effect over a long period, by partially covering a tacky surface of a drug-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer with a layer of a drug- permeable substance. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a film- or sheet-formed carrier is coated with a drug-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer produced by adding 0.05-40wt% drug for transcutaneous absorption to an pressure-sensitive adhesive such as acrylic adhesive, rubbery adhesive, etc. (the amount of the drug per unit area of the preparation is 2-800mug/cm<2>). The sticky surface is partially covered with a layer of a drug-permeable substance free from drug, preferably a substance having lower diffusion coefficient than the above adhesive layer. The covered area is 5-80%, preferably 10-50% of the total area. Preferably, the thickness of the adhesive layer is 10-100mum, that of the drug-permeable layer is 1-50mum and sum of both layers is 10-100mum.
