PURPOSE:To enable even a beginner to easily take a picture wherein different subjects are in focus by detecting a calculated diaphragm value being not within the limited diaphragm value range of a small diaphragm value and warning that by a warning means only at this time. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm determining device is equipped with a focus detecting circuit which finds the quantity of defocusing for putting the subjects in focus and a diaphragm calculating circuit which calculates a diaphragm value corresponding to the quantity of defocusing between the different subjects detected by the detecting circuit,and determines a photographic diaphragm value. Then a deciding circuit decides whether or not the calculated diaphragm value is within the range between an open diaphragm value and a small diaphragm side, and a warning signal generating circuit generates a warning signal for driving a warning means only on the basis of the decision result of the deciding circuit only when the calculated diaphragm value is within neither an diaphragm range nor the small-diaphragm side limited diaphragm value range. For example, when the calculated diaphragm value is beyond the small- diaphragm limit, a display device DISP2 is made to blink, but an element dedicated to warning operation may be provided instead. Further, the warning may be made by a sound and thus any warning configuration can be employed. |
