PURPOSE:To attain excellent waveform equalization by providing a differential amplifier retarding an input by using a delay circuit and inputting both the input and an output from an attenuator. CONSTITUTION:A signal conversion circuit 2 uses an address detected by an address detection circuit 1 so as to generate a control voltage of a voltage controlled delay circuit 3. The circuit 3 uses a control signal C1 to change the delay. Moreover, a detected address is inputted to a signal conversion circuit 6, from which a signal C2 controlling the attenuation factor of the attenuator 5. The differential amplifier 4 receives an output of the circuit 3 and an output of the attenuator 5 respectively. Since the delay and attenuation deciding the characteristic of the waveform equalizer are set optimizingly at any signal reproducing position on a disk by using a control signal generated by the address signal, excellent waveform equalization is attained.
