PURPOSE:To allow anybody to enjoy a paid information offering service from an information terminal by utilizing a charge collection function by a general public telephone set. CONSTITUTION:A user desiring to receive an information offering service accesses an information offering equipment 14 by conventional dialing from a public telephone set 22. A telephone exchange system 10 sets a subscriber line 24 of the telephone set 22 to a talking path 40 connected to a line 16 of the device 14 in response to conventional dialing from the public telephone set 22. In collecting the charge, a charge collection signal 44 is sent from a charging device 20 of a telephone exchange system 10 to the public telephone set 22. The information terminal 32 sends charge information to a subscriber line 36 up to the device 14. Thus, the information offering device 14 recognizes the presence of coin deposition or residual amount of a card.
