A sealing device is prepared to close up the gap (5) between the floor edges of a platform (2) and a lift cabin (3). A pair of guide sheaves (11) are mounted at both ends of a guide rail (9) for elevator doors (8). A vertical rail (15) is prepared at the center of the guide rail and provided with a balance weight (16) and the other pair of guide sheaves (14) for the rope (18). A pair of ropes (18) interconnect the elevator door (8) and the balance weight via the guide sheaves (11,14), and hold a pair of movable sealing members (13) sliding along a guide groove (12). Between the ribs (13a,13b) of the sealing member, a ring stopper (20) is fixed to the rope with coil springs (19) on both sides of the stopper.
