PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel device that allows for regaining a normal operating state from an abnormal state while preventing damage thereto and malfunction of a host device that may be caused by the abnormal state of the touch panel.SOLUTION: An output control unit 6 of a touch panel device controls a process of outputting, to a host device, touch information indicative of presence of a touch on a touch panel 1 made by an indicator and coordinates thereof acquired by a sensing unit 2 and a touch detection unit 3 of the touch panel 1. A state detection unit 4 detects operating states of the sensing unit 2 and the touch detection unit 3. A state recovery unit 5 regains a normal operating state of the sensing unit 2 or the touch detection unit 3 based on a result of detection by the state detection unit 4. The output control unit 6 responds to detection of an abnormal state by the state detection unit 4 by halting the output of the touch information to the host device for a certain period of time thereafter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
