Vertical deflecting coils (V1)(V2) and correcting coils (L1) (L2) of a deflecting yoke are connected in series, and the correcting coils (L1)(L2) are wound on magnetic pieces (13a)(13b) respectively, while the magnetic pieces (13a)(13b) are disposed near an electron gun (14), and installed on the upper and lower portions of a neck (12) of a coil separator (11) in an opposingly facing form. Thus, before three electron beams from the electron gun are deflected by the deflecting yoke, a current which is tuned to the vertical deflecting coils deflects the beams so as to be scanned slightly upwardly or downwardly on the screen, thereby correcting a misconvergence.
