NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR BATTERY

PURPOSE:To provide a battery having a long cyclic lifetime by forming a negative electrode from a composite body consisting of electroconductive high polymer obtained through reductive reactions and a metal and/or carbonic substance. CONSTITUTION:Negative electrode is made from a composite body consisting of electroconductive high polymer and a metallic and/or carbonic substance. This electroconductive high polymer obtained through reductive reactions shall be such as capable of forming a complex with Li ions and/or conducting Li ions-for example, a substance obtained by polymerizing chemically a halogen derivative of polypyridine or quinoline. This enhances the mechanical strength of negative electrode, and a battery neg. electrode having a long cyclic lifetime can be obtained.
