PURPOSE: To provide a fastener assembly capable of realizing reliable sealing even when dimensional tolerances in fabrication are accumulated, particularly, capable of serving as a drain plug for an oil pan of a vehicle to prevent oil leakage and preventing damage that might occur to an engine. CONSTITUTION: A fastener assembly 10 comprises, integrally, a head 30, a washer 32, and a shank 34. A sealing ring made 22 is seated in an undercut annular recess 40, and the assembly 10n is fit in a threaded aperture 16 of a metal workpiece 12. The sealing ring 22 is preferably made so that, when it is unstressed, a thickness of a sealing portion 60 is four - thirds the depth of the recess 40, a thickness of a web 62 is an half of the thickness of the recess the sealing portion 60 and approximately two - thirds the axial depth of the recess 40, and a distance between an inner cylindrical surface 46 and an outer cylindrical surface 44 of the recess is three times the depth of the recess.
