<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a radar system for vehicle having a break alarm function which makes a decision whether a vehicle is trying to break in abruptly between a vehicle and a preceding vehicle and producing an alarm only in case of abrupt break. CONSTITUTION:An R measuring circuit 11 measures the distance R of a vehicle trying to break in between a vehicle and a preceding vehicle by means of right (left) beam 10. An LR calculating circuit 13 calculates an alarm distance LR based on the relationship between a breaking vehicle and the distance R between vehicles. A comparing circuit 14 compares the distance R with the alarm distance LR and if the distance R between vehicles is shorter than the alarm distance LR, a timer count circuit 15 begins timer counting. Timer counting is ended when a breaking vehicle detecting circuit 17 detects a breaking vehicle by means of a central beam 16. A computation circuit 18 makes a decision whether a vehicle is trying an abrupt break in based on the timer count value and sounds a buzzer 19 only in case of abrupt break in.</p> |
