<p>The invention deals with a biaxially oriented self-supporting mono- or multilayer copolyester film having a continuous copolyester primer coating on one or both sides thereof, wherein the copolyester film is a PENBB film and wherein said copolyester primer coating contains the polyester condensation product of the following monomers or their polyester forming equivalents: (a) a suitable aromatic dicarboxylic acid; (b) an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid of the formula HOOC-(CH2)n-COOH wherein n ranges from 1 to 11 and/or (c) a sulfomonomer containing an alkali metal sulfonate group and; (d) stoichiometric quantities of a copolymerizable aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alkylene glycol having from 2 to 11 carbon atoms. PENBB is a copolyester containing units of formula (I).</p> |
