PURPOSE:To provide a novel compound having anthelmintic, miticidal and insecticidal activity, esp. useful as a medicine for animals. CONSTITUTION:The compound AD-24-1b of the formula. This compound can be obtained by culturing, e.g. Strptomyces sp. AL-61729 strain (IFO-5489) in a medium under aerobic conditions followed by extraction and purification. The physicochemical characteristics of this compound are as follows: (1) appearance: white solid, (2) specific optical rotation [alpha]D<22>: +110.6 (c=1.0, acetone), (3) molecular weight: 626, (4) molecular formula: C<37>H<54>O<8>, and (5) solubility: soluble to methanol, ethyl acetate, acetope, etc., sparingly soluble to water. This compound can be applicable to dogs, cats, cows, pigs, sheep, horses, etc., its dose being 0.005-0.5mg/kg a day. |
