<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the consumed energy of a steering gear box displacing means to auxiliarily steer a wheel by displacing a steering gear box for main steering in the direction of car width. CONSTITUTION:A steering operation to a stubshaft 2 is converted into the displacement of a rack 4 through a steering gear box 1 to mainly steer a wheel connected to the rack 4. When a motor 9 is driven, a thereby rotated worm 10 displaces the steering box 1 in the direction of car width through a worm gear 11 to auxiliarily steer the wheel connected to the rack 4. Since the steering gear box 1 is supported by brackets 5, 6 so as to be slidable in the direction of car width without any restriction, the motor 9 needs not displace the steering gear box 1 through the deformation of an elastic member for reducing consumed energy.</p> |
