A method for simultaneously removing nitrogen-containing and sulphur-containing contaminants when wet-cleaning flue gases, wherein the gases are brought into intensive contact with an acid, aqueous solution which includes divalent iron, without the addition of complexing or sequestering agents or organic chemicals as auxiliary substances, characterized by adding the divalent iron in the form of finely ground iron ore. |
