<p>PURPOSE: To provide a road lighting system for fog that can secure a large lighting range and prevent the generation of glare and moreover can prevent the useless consumption of electricity. CONSTITUTION: A lighting system body 3 with a high luminosity light source 2 is installed at the height almost equal to the height of a head lamp equipped at a body. The generation of fog is detected by a fog detecting sensor 4, and surrounding brightness is detected by an illuminance detecting sensor 5. The passage of a vehicle body is detected by a vehicle body detecting sensor 6 provided on this side of the lighting system body 3. On the basis of the detected results of the respective sensors 4, 5, 6, the high luminosity light source 2 is lighted to illuminate the proceeding direction of the vehicle body.</p> |
