The device comprises a console holder and a support console. The holder consists of sheet metal profiled parts which have in the ideal installation position two vertically aligned flange areas (5) which can be aligned at right angles to each other and parallel to the fastening faces forming the corner. The flange areas have two holding faces (6) directed at right angles to the flange areas so that a support console (7) can be fixed one on each. The bearing faces of the support consoles lie in the horizontal plane. The profiled parts can be combined into one piece whereby the marginal edges of the holding faces remote from the flange areas run into each other and include a right angle with each other.
