<p>With the spread of IC cards, chips have been required to be fabricated thinly and there has been arising a problem of malfunction of a circuit due to chip cracking. It is necessary to detect a chip cracking by circuit means and to completely stop the operation of the chip circuit. For the purpose, a resistor (R01) is provided along the portion at which chip cracking, if any, is to be detected to measure the change of the resistance because of the chip cracking. By using the detection signal, internal signals such as a power-on reset signal are controlled to prevent the circuit from malfunctioning. Further the security of the system can be improved.</p> |
