The present invention refers to a heat exchanger having oval or oblong section tubes, and to a process for the assembly thereof; the heat exchanger comprises a plurality of tubes (12) that pass through wings (14), the ends (16) of which being inserted in apertures of a collecting plate (18), and a compressible impervious joint (30) being interposed, and forming sleeves (34) surrounding the tube ends, and wherein the tube ends have an oval or oblong section; the larger axis of the tube end is equal to that of the tube, while the smaller axis of the tube end is larger than that of the tube after the tube has been widened, when the heat exchanger is assembled; the invention has application in heat exchangers for motor vehicles. |
