PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an optical film which fulfills the required characteristic (tenacity and small thickness dots) searched for an optical and display use or the like by a melt extrusion method using a cyclic olefinic resin having a specific structure. SOLUTION: A cyclic olefinic resin melt-extruded film is produced by the melt extrusion method using the cyclic olefinic resin containing a structure unit comprising a monomer A such as 8-methyl-8- methoxycarbonyltetracyclo[4.4.0.1<2> ,<5> .1<7> ,<10> ]-3-dodecene and a monomer B such as bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene.
