The present invention relates to a display manufacturing method and a display manufacturing apparatus for use in the display manufacturing method, which can prevent defects from occurring in a manufacturing process and which can reduce manufacturing costs. Provided is the display manufacturing method comprising the steps of: forming a display element on a substrate attached to one surface of a carrier; disposing a shield portion, including non-transparent shield regions corresponding to at least parts of edges of the substrate, on the other surface of the carrier; and radiating light onto the other surface of the carrier in order to separate parts of the substrate from the carrier. Also provided is the display manufacturing apparatus for use in the display manufacturing method.
