<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital right management and an implementation method capable of controlled rendering or reproducing of a digital content being in an arbitrary form. <P>SOLUTION: The content is encrypted according to a content key (CK) ((CK(content))) and is protected according to a license server public key (PU-DRM), and right data associated with the contents are taken out from a right template and is protected according to the key (PU-DRM). Protected items and a digital signature from the right template are submitted as a right label to a license server. The license server verifies the right template signature, and in the case of successful verification, the license server signs the right label to prepare a signed right label (SRL) and returns the same. The SRL is concatenated with (CK(content)), and both are distributed to a user.
