PURPOSE: Provided are 1,2,4-triazole derivatives, processes for the preparation thereof, and pharmaceutical compositions containing the same, which compounds improve side-effects of conventional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents and have improved fever-removing, pain-alleviating and anti-inflammatory activities. CONSTITUTION: The 1,2,4-triazole derivatives represented by formula (1) or non-toxic salts thereof are provided, wherein X is methyl or amino; Ar is phenyl substituted with one or more substituents selected from phenyl or C1-C6 alkoxy and halogen; A is O or S; and R is hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, trifluoro C1-C6 alkyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, cyano or halogen substituted C1-C6 alkyl, propargyl, allyl or benzyl. The method for preparing the compound of formula (1b) comprises reacting a compound of formula (1a) with R-Br or R-I in the presence of base, wherein R' is C1-C6 alkyl, trifluoro C1-C6 alkyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, cyano or halogen substituted C1-C6 alkyl, propargyl, allyl or benzyl.
