<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communications apparatus enabling the user to efficiently browse desired data. <P>SOLUTION: A client apparatus 200 previously designates the sorting conditions and narrowing conditions of thumbnail information by a sorting condition designating means 201 and a narrowing condition designating means 220. Before transmitting the thumbnail information by a thumbnail information transmitting means 107, a server apparatus 100 narrows down the thumbnail information by a thumbnail sorting means 106 and sorts the data by a thumbnail narrowing down means 122.
