<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to use an exchange unit which is not an original manufacturer's product by a user's intention even when the exchange unit which is not the original manufacturer's product is loaded. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus 10, when the exchange unit which is other than the original manufacturer's product is loaded, the user can select through a UI apparatus 18 an action mode which is different from the action mode corresponding to the original manufacturer's product and history information regarding the set action mode by the user's selection and attribute information for the loaded exchange unit (for example, the result of discrimination when whether the exchange unit is the original manufacturer's product or not is discriminated) and history information of printing process carried out in this action mode (printed number of sheets and an error code, etc.) are stored relative to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
