<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct an optical amplification and distribution network which can realize flexible system design and a low cost as compared with the conventional CATV distribution system. <P>SOLUTION: A signal light outputted from a light transmission apparatus 101 is branched into a plurality of signal light beams (output 1, output 2, ..., output (n)) by an optical distributor 102. The branched signal light beams are amplified by an optical fiber amplifier 103 disposed on the post-stage of the optical distributor, and amplified signal light beams (output 1a, output 2a, ..., output na) are outputted from light output ports. The optical fiber amplifier is disposed on the post-stage of the light distributor, thereby providing an optical network wherein user service quality is improved without necessity to stop the entire system even when an accident or the like occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
