The synthetic aperture radar system has a radar antenna, which has one or more antenna elements, where each antenna element has multiple transmitting-or receiving modules (TRM) assigned to the phase centers (Rad) and has a signal processing unit for coherent processing of signals of the emitter. The signal processing unit has a hybrid beam formation unit for digitilizing and processing the analog receiving signals received by the transmitting-or receiving units. An independent claim is included for a method of processing synthetic aperture radar signals. |
