<p>The ratchet type ring spanner for the tightening of opposed inversely threaded "nipples" e.g. radiator fixings, is more robust than pawled-ratchets and can be operated with one hand and incorporates a ratchet lug (5) in the handle (6) stock (1), with this latter being forked (2) to enable it to translate w.r.T. the key (3) and crenellated wheel (4). Opposed handle translation with intermediate rotation moves the ratchet from one crenellation to another without disengaging the key from the workpiece. The handle lies normal to the key axis, with the crenellated wheel (4) and a screw fixed flange (8) locating respectively below and above, maintaining the forked (2) handle stock (1) in position on the key (3).</p> |
