The mounting for attaching a snow plough blade to a lorry has two arms (17, 18) which project from the front of the lorry and are coupled to the top and bottom of a vertical shaft (22). The blade is raised and lowered by an hydraulic ram (23) and a horizontal shaft (27) is received along with the vertical shaft in a support (5). The horizontal shaft is housed in a bore in the vertical shaft and is acted on by a torsion element (25) in the bore. Guides (32) are provided in the support (5) for the vertical shaft, a spring mechanism (12) being provided between the support and the top of the blade.
