<p>The handling equipment is for oblong items with heads and pointed tips, particularly nails loaded into packages. A reception column (1) is equipped with an orientation system (29, 30) for the items, and a mechanism (8-10) forming them into batches. A transfer mechanism (3, 4) fills partitioned packages (19) with them, the packages being indexed along a conveyor track (18). The column may have a hopper (5) at the top for collecting the items as they fall by gravity from the machine producing them, and the inside of the column can be coated with sound-deadening material. The orientation system can be in the central part (6) of the column, having two flat vertical partitions at right angles to each other and of different heights (29, 30).</p> |
