1478727 Hydraulic turbines ALLIS-CHALMERS CORP 15 Oct 1975 [23 Dec 1974] 42259/75 Heading FIT Each half section 17, (18), Fig. 8 (not shown) of the headcover of an hydraulic turbine, e.g. of Francis type, is moved into its assembled horizontal position in a turbine pit 6 by lowering it through opening 9 with its diameter 19 substantially vertical, Fig. 1, rotating it through diametrically opposite recesses 12, 13 defined between thrust bearing support flanges 11 into a position, Fig. 3, in which diameter 19 is horizontal, and then rotating and lowering it, Fig. 7, over respective support rods 14 or 16. The half sections 17, (18) are rigidly secured together after both have been installed. The annular flange 8 surrounding opening 9 may support an electric generator stator. |
