The mounting is for a housing on a rail having two flanges directed away from one another and comprises a hook fixed to the housing and intended to be engaged under the first flange. After this engagement, the housing is tilted toward the second flange which is engaged by a spring loaded latch provided on the housing. The latch is a sheet metal component positioned edge-on to the second flange and seated in guide slots of the housing so that when the housing is pressed on to the second flange the latch snaps under the latter flange. The end of the latch opposite the flange projects from the housing.
