<p>The powered glider with retractable nose, tail cones is generally as set out in 2635840 and 2549956 with an internal propulsion unit (x, y); axially movable nose, tail cones controlling thrust air entry, exit openings. However, electric motor (EK) drives with gearing (ZG) are fitted to the threaded spindles (b) through which cone movement is effected, wired to produce simultaneous nose cone retraction, tail cone projection - or vice versa. Movement of the telescopic (D, D') hollow nose cone is guided by pairs of rods (c, c') projecting from the main bulkhead (F), entering into sleeves (cg, ch). Perforated plate (O) supporting the inboard end of the forward portion sleeves (cg) engages flanges (m) on the other sleeves to retract the rear portion.</p> |
