<p>The cover protects the helicopter landing grid on the deck of a ship. It comprises a sheet of synthetic rubber, in several sections, covering the whole of the grid surface. Quick action inserts hold the cover in place, the inserts being pushed into the apertures in the grid. Each insert has a stainless steel stud (6), having a large flat head (6a) to which is vulcanised a plug (7) of synthetic rubber; the walls (7a) of this plug are bulged and are hollow (7b) to permit gripping. A large headed bolt (5a, 5b) passes through the sheet (1, 8, 9) and into the stud to secure the assembly in position.</p> |
