<p>New lysine salt is lysine 4-allyloxy-3-chlorophenylacetate of formula (I): (I) is the lysine salt of the known anti-inflammatory agent and analgesic alclofenac. It has the advantage of solubility in water and biological fluids, and is particularly suitable for administration by intravenous or intramuscular injection. Its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic activity is as good as or better than that of alcofenac itself, and absorption after oral or rectal administration is better than with alclofenac. In an example, (I) is prepd. by mixing a soln. of alclofenac (226.6g) in 25% EtOH (1200 ml) with a soln. of lysine (146g) in CO2-satd. water, leaving 24 hrs. at room temp., evaporating to small volume, and leaving 72 hrs. in an ice-bath to crystallise.</p> |
