The mechanism allows separate or simultaneous actuation of control vales in a hydraulic or pneumatic machine, particularly a forklift truck, having a single handle coupled by a lever linkage to the valves. The linkage (2, 4) is divided into two or more portions, which can be slid axially in relation to each other and als locked together. The parts of the linkage can be arranged to telescope inside each other, the outer tubular one being enclosed by a clamp (6). The handle (1) can be adjustable and lockable in position on an intermediate lever (7).
