The clock-pulse generator has a shift register (SR) producing a given sequence (ZT) of pulses. A ring counter (RZe is driven by an auxialiry clock signal (HT) and produces at its outputs (R1-RX) the shift clock signals for the register. The pulse width of the individual pulses (A1-An) derived from each given pulse is thereby defined. The control signals needed for monitoring are also derived from the outputs of the ring counter, (RZ). The latter has a number of outputs (RO-RX) transferred through a theft-register (SR) to a parallel set of coincidence gates (9, 92...gn) each of which energises a step amplifier (V1, V2,...Vn).
