Accurate centering of the rotor of an electric motor in the stator opening is obtained using two rotor shaft bearings, one carried on a web from the rigid main support piece and the other carried in the end plate which is located on posts extending from the main support and passing through the stator lamination assembly parallel to the rotor shaft. Shoulders, cut on posts, allow the end plate to be located with no radial play and riveted in place. The electric motor may be used to drive a pump. During the assembly of the support and the stator, the stator is at first engaged on posts. Then, with the help of a pressing device, the stator can be pushed along the posts up to the shoulder sections on the posts where they abut the reference surface of the device.
|
