This information processing system manages updating of prescribed software of each node which configures a cluster. The information processing system comprises a plurality of nodes 7 which configures a cluster. Each of the nodes 7 which configures the cluster respectively retains cluster management information T10 for managing the configuration of the cluster. On the basis of the cluster management information T10, each of the nodes 7 is capable of acquiring software update management information T20 which is used in updating prescribed software 102 which is provided for each of the nodes 7. A prescribed node 7M which is selected from among the nodes 7 acquires the software update management information T20 on the basis of the cluster management information T10, and updates the prescribed software 102 of each of the nodes 7 on the basis of the acquired software update management information T20. |
