发明名称 MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION OF DRUM SURFACE
摘要 PURPOSE:To accurately measure the surface contamination density of a drum by bringing a brush into contact with the flank of the drum so that the drum and the rotary shaft of the brush are parallel, and displacing the drum and a suction pipe relatively in the rotary shaft direction of the drum. CONSTITUTION:The rotary brush 12 is rotated and a suction pump 19 is put in operation to suck air from the opening end of the suction pipe 11, so the upper end part of the drum 1 is opposite to the suction pipe 11 and the drum 1 is rotated in the opposite direction from the rotating direction of the brush 12. Consequently, the brush 12 peels radioactive contamination off the surface of the drum 1 and the peeled-off radioactive contamination is sucked in the suction pipe 11 and captured by the filter paper 19 in piping 16. Then the drum 1 is elevated by a rotary elevation table 6 after the drum 1 makes one turn and then the entire flank to the drum 1 is brushed. Then the filter paper 19 after collection is measured by a radiation detector to find the radioactive contamination density of the drum 1.
